You know it’s summer when everyone is complaining that it’s yucky outside. The sun is shining, and if I’m being honest? It’s my favorite time of the year. What also makes it my favorite time of the year, is the immense amount of free time I get. I can read, I can sleep, I can even binge watch on Netflix and Hulu without feeling guilty. And yes, I can already see you nodding your head in agreement as you read all of that. And no, I can’t really see you, so don’t worry.
With all of the responsibilities that I had during the school year, reading books of my choice weren’t exactly on the top of my priority list. Especially when I had a writing assignment here and another one there. Thankfully now that I am completely done with school, I can finally read books of my choosing.
Reading challenges are fun! They’re supposed to encourage you to read new books. From reading challenges, you can expose yourself to new cultures, and more. It challenges you to step outside of your comfort zone, in a fun way. The competitive side in you will love participating in reading challenges as you continue to check each challenge off one by one.
What is pretty great about reading challenges is that there are so many different types out there. You have challenges that are curated for a specific theme, or genre. Even ones that are a mixture of more than one theme, which can be looked as inspirational and educational.
